How it Began

My Pilates journey began 10 years ago, when I started classes with my mother after her doctor recommended Pilates for her sciatica. I quickly fell in love with the method’s effectiveness and went on to qualify with Drummond Education, training in biomechanics, physical therapy, and pre/post-natal Pilates. After several years working in movement therapy, I became fascinated by the mind-body connection and trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy with Marisa Peer. I’m always learning, whether from the clients I work with, Harvard Medical publications, podcasts, or CPD courses.

Life Changed Profoundly

Our Promise - Tyler Abdul Foundation

Pilateso is deeply committed to supporting teen mental health –  a commitment born from personal loss after our founder lost her 15-year-old son, Tyler, to suicide. In his memory, and with purpose at the heart of everything we do, we actively welcome teens into the studio and work in partnership with the Tyler Abdul Foundation (TyFo) to offer free classes that empower young people to connect with their bodies, build strength, confidence, and resilience, and prioritise their own health and wellbeing. We believe movement can be a powerful tool for support, connection, and hope, and we are proud to create a safe, inclusive space where teens feel seen, supported, and valued.

Our Team

Meet Your Instructors

Charlene Abdul

Owner & Pilates Mat & Reformer Instructor

I’ve been teaching Pilates for over eight years, and I genuinely love what I do. What I love most is the community at Pilateso – the incredible people who walk through the door, bring their energy, and make this space what it is. Watching clients grow stronger, move with more confidence, improve their balance, and feel the real, functional changes that carry over into everyday life is what drives me.

What you can expect from my classes

A deeper understanding of your body, a supportive challenge, and a class that leaves you feeling stronger, more connected, and better than when you arrived.

What I’d say to someone new to Reformer Pilates?

Take the first step. Sign up for our Introduction to Reformer class and come see what it’s all about. It’s completely normal to feel nervous when trying something new, which is why this class is designed for beginners. You’ll be alongside others who are learning too, we’ll take things at a steady pace, and I’ll make sure you understand how the reformer works so you can feel confident and supported from the start.

Sam Edwards

Reformer Pilates Instructor

I’ve been teaching Pilates for over 18 years, and alongside this I’m a qualified Reformer Pilates instructor, Personal Trainer, Women’s Health Coach, and Nutrition coach. I genuinely believe I have the best job in the world, working with incredible clients every day, helping them become stronger, more capable, and more confident in their bodies. What I love most is not just seeing physical change, but watching clients gain confidence that carries into every area of life. Strength, when built properly, changes how you move, how you feel, and how you show up  both inside and outside the studio.

What you can expect from my classes

My Reformer classes are athletic, sports-based, and strong, with a clear focus on functional fitness. You can expect: Challenging, progressive programming ,Strength-based Reformer work , Intelligent sequencing with purpose.

These classes are designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and build a body that performs not just one that looks good.

What I’d say to someone new to Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates meets you where you are and builds from there. You’ll be guided through each movement, given clear cues, and encouraged to work at a level that feels challenging but achievable. It’s not about perfection; it’s about learning how to move well, developing strength safely, and gradually building confidence in your body.
